* fix(telegram): deny all users when allowed_users has no valid ID
TelegramChannel parsed channels.telegram.allowed_users with int() and
dropped every entry that failed without logging, and _check_user treated
an empty result as "no allowlist". A list of @usernames therefore opened
the bot to everyone. A single string ID was iterated character by
character ("123456" allowed users 1-6 and blocked 123456), which is what
an allowed_users: $ENV reference resolves to, and null or a bare integer
crashed the channel at startup.
The allowlist is now parsed into frozenset[int] | None: None (unset,
null, empty list, blank string) still allows everyone, a single ID is a
one-entry list, entries that are not positive numeric IDs (@usernames,
floats, booleans, comma-joined strings) are dropped with a warning, and
a configured list with no valid ID denies every user and logs an error.
* docs(changelog): reference #6230 for the telegram allowed_users fix
* fix(telegram): say "positive" in the allowed_users drop warning
0 and negative integers are numeric but still dropped, so "expected one
numeric Telegram user ID" misdescribed them. The warning now asks for a
positive numeric ID, matching _parse_telegram_user_id, and the drop test
covers 0 and -5 alongside @alice.

* fix(browser): pin browser connections to the SSRF-vetted addresses
The navigate screen and the per-request guard resolve a hostname to vet
it, but Chromium resolved the name again to open the connection. A
rebinding DNS server could answer both checks with a public address and
the connection with a private or cloud-metadata one, and the browser
followed it.
Launch each private browser through a per-session loopback SOCKS5 proxy.
Over SOCKS5 Chromium sends the hostname itself, so the proxy resolves it
exactly once through the session's egress resolver and connects only to
the addresses that resolver vetted. resolve_browser_egress applies the
same allow_private_addresses policy as validate_browser_url, on top of a
new url_safety.resolve_public_addresses helper that
validate_public_http_url now shares. Loopback is proxied explicitly with
bypass "<-loopback>". The tools, navigate_and_capture and the Live
WebSocket all pass the resolver, because a thread's first caller fixes
its launch options.
CDP-attached Chrome is unchanged. Delegated fetch services (crawl4ai,
Browserless, fastcrw) still resolve on their own side, which the Gateway
cannot pin.
* docs(changelog): reference #6201 in the browser egress pinning entry
* fix(browser): bound egress proxy faults and close, and record the WebRTC gap
Review follow-ups for the pinned browser egress proxy:
- A resolver exception other than ValueError escaped the connection
handler as an unretrieved task error. Log it with its traceback and
reply SOCKS5 general failure (0x01), so a resolver fault stays
distinguishable from a policy refusal (0x02).
- Bound the resolve with its own timeout. The handshake timeout did not
cover it, so a wedged getaddrinfo held the half-open tunnel until
Chromium gave up. A timeout replies host unreachable.
- Bound close(): Server.wait_closed() also waits for a connection whose
handler registered after the writer sweep, which could stall session
close and eviction for the 15 s handshake. A handler that starts after
close now drops its connection without opening a tunnel.
- Docs said a launched browser connects "solely" through the proxy.
WebRTC UDP does not traverse a SOCKS proxy, so AGENTS.md, README (en/zh)
and both changelogs now scope the guarantee to TCP and name the gap.
* feat(persistence): add notification delivery outbox for scheduled task IM push
New notification_deliveries table and repository (migration 0012) backing
the outbox pattern for issue #4254: idempotent enqueue keyed on task_run_id
plus event plus provider plus target, atomic claim of due rows, and
exponential-backoff retry state moving pending to sending to sent or failed.
Execution status stays in scheduled_task_runs; delivery status lives here.
* feat(scheduler): enqueue and deliver scheduled-task notifications over IM channels
Closes the loop for issue #4254. On run completion the scheduler writes
outbox rows for the task owner's connected channel identities (success and
failure events; interrupts stay silent), and a new NotificationDeliveryWorker
polls due rows and pushes them through the channel's proactive send path.
Channel gains send_notification; WeCom implements it via the WS client's
send_message with errcode checking, the base class raises for providers
without proactive push.
Delivery is best-effort and never shadows execution status: enqueue and send
failures are logged and recorded in the outbox, which retries with backoff.
Channel liveness is re-checked at delivery time, and the worker stops before
the channel service on shutdown. Feature activates only when channel
connections are enabled; no new dependencies.
Verified end to end against a live WeCom bot: scheduled run completion
produced an outbox row that was delivered in under one second.
* feat(scheduler): include scheduled run result summary in IM notifications
The v1 notification only carried the run outcome skeleton (status, task id,
run id). Completed runs now include the agent's final answer so the IM push
is actually useful headlessly.
- The delivery worker accepts an optional resolve_run_summary(run_id,
user_id) resolver; for run_completed events it enriches the rendered text
with a "Result:" line (bounded to 1000 chars). The lookup is best-effort:
resolver failures or missing summaries degrade to the skeleton text and
never block or fail the delivery.
- The summary is read at delivery time from runs.last_ai_message (the
convenience column written on run completion), not snapshotted into the
outbox payload; retried deliveries re-read the freshest value and the
outbox row payload stays skeleton-only. The claimed outbox row is never
mutated in place.
- Gateway wiring scopes the read to the outbox row's owner_user_id so a
stale row cannot pull another user's run content.
- Failed runs keep the error-only skeleton: a partial answer on a failed
run would be misleading.
Tests: 9 new worker cases (rendering incl. truncation, sync/async
resolvers, failure/missing fallbacks, no resolver call for failed runs).
Full scheduled + outbox + channels regression green (441 passed), ruff
check + format clean.
* fix(scheduler): address review feedback on notification delivery reliability
Review follow-ups for the scheduled-task IM notification outbox:
1. Crash recovery for "sending" rows: claim now stamps updated_at and the
worker reconciles rows stuck in "sending" past a 10-minute lease back to
"pending" before every claim. Per-row try/except isolates a crashing
delivery from the rest of the claimed batch.
2. Double-send race under multiple workers: claim returns exactly the rows
its own UPDATE...RETURNING flipped (guarded by status='pending'), so a
rival worker's concurrent claim can no longer be handed out twice.
3. Restore non-ASCII comments and drop the BOM accidentally introduced in
test_scheduled_task_service.py.
4. Manual "run now" completions no longer enqueue IM notifications; the
user is already watching the UI. Missing trigger metadata fails safe
towards notifying.
5. Channel-outage failures no longer consume the retry budget: they are
parked with count_attempt=False on a flat 15-minute backoff so an
hours-long outage cannot exhaust retries and drop the notification.
Tests: repository 16, worker 21, scheduled-task service 31; targeted
regression across notification/scheduler/channel suites: 511 passed.
* fix(scheduler): address round-2 review on IM notification delivery
Park WeCom transport/outage failures without burning retries, bound worker stop, include task titles, align enqueue with delivery, and document the IM push behavior.

* fix(scheduler): address round-3 review on IM notification delivery
Cap channel-down parking by row age and parked attempts, redact IM egress
content, narrow WeCom transport exceptions, add lifespan wiring tests, and
run ruff format so lint-backend passes.

* fix(scheduler): redact entire PEM blocks in IM egress text
The previous BEGIN-only pattern left key material and the END marker in notifications.

* fix(persistence): align 0014 parked_attempts with bootstrap schema tests
Backfill existing rows with a temporary server default, then drop it so create_all matches Alembic, and move HEAD anchors to 0014.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
* fix(persistence): format notification tests and shorten alembic revision id
ruff format --check failed on test_notification_delivery_worker.py.
0015_notification_delivery_parked_attempts exceeds alembic_version.version_num
(VARCHAR 32) and truncates on Postgres CI; use 0015_parked_attempts instead.
* test: fix post-merge CI failures after migration renumber
Update migration 0015 test HEAD expectation to 0017_parked_attempts and add queue_timeout_seconds to the lifespan notification worker mock scheduler config.
* fix(persistence): chain the notification outbox migrations after 0026
Main's head moved from 0016 to 0026_mcp_task_lease_tokens, so the two
outbox revisions are renumbered and re-parented:
- 0017_notification_deliveries -> 0027_notification_deliveries
- 0018_parked_attempts -> 0028_parked_attempts
Only the revision ids, parents and the migration guide change.
* fix(scheduler): adapt the notification hook and its docs to main
- tests: the completion tests assert on the atomic complete_run record;
new cases cover a completion that was not recorded, a task deleted
meanwhile, a failed task read, and the outbox being off.
- AGENTS.md: drop the root note and shorten the backend note to a pointer;
the two notes pushed two effective guidance chains past the 96 KiB limit.
- CHANGELOG: move the entry from the released 2.1.0 section to Unreleased
and add its link references.
* test(persistence): move the chain-head pin to the outbox migrations
test_migration_0026 pinned 0026 as the head, so it failed once the outbox
revisions chained after it. It now checks chain membership like the older
migration tests, and a new test file owns the head pin, checks the parents
and the 32-character revision id limit, and runs the upgrade and downgrade.
* fix(gateway): wire scheduled-task notifications after the channel service starts
The outbox wiring sat in the scheduler block and asked for the running
channel service there. #5035 moved the channel service start to after the
scheduler, and the two changes merged without a conflict, so on every
startup the lookup returned None and the feature disabled itself with the
"write-only outbox" warning. The lifespan tests patched the lookup to a
constant and kept passing.
The wiring now runs in its own step after the channel service start. The
scheduler is built as on main, and ScheduledTaskService gains
attach_notification_outbox() so the enqueue side is enabled once the
delivery worker is running. The guard, the worker and the shutdown order
are unchanged.
Tests: the lifespan helper can model the real accessor (None until the
channel service has started); a new case fails without this fix.
* fix(scheduler): enqueue from scheduler start and keep the push when the title read fails
Follow-up to the startup-order fix, from review.
- The enqueue side is wired with the scheduler again (it only needs the
durable table), and only the delivery worker waits for the channel
service. Attaching it later left a window after the scheduler started in
which a finished run wrote no outbox row. If the channel service is
missing or the worker cannot start, the enqueue side is detached, so the
outbox still never becomes write-only.
- A failed task read after complete_run no longer drops the notification:
the title is optional and the message falls back to the task id. A task
deleted meanwhile still stays silent.
* fix(channels): park WeCom notifications while the SDK socket is closed
The WeCom SDK raises a plain RuntimeError when its socket is not open, and
send_notification only mapped ConnectionError, TimeoutError and OSError to
ChannelUnavailable. A disconnect therefore spent the counted retry budget
and settled the row as failed after about 15 minutes, although the docs
say transport outages park without consuming retries.
send_notification now asks the client's is_connected first. The new test
uses a real, never-connected SDK client: it raised RuntimeError after three
retries before, and parks now.
* docs(scheduler): describe which outcomes notify; mirror the changelog entry
- README (en/zh) and CONFIGURATION.md: only runs that finish as success or
failed notify; occurrences that end without a finished run (launch error,
queue timeout, restart recovery) do not. Parking lasts up to about a day.
- CHANGELOG: cite the issue as text like the rest of the file, and add the
entry and link reference to CHANGELOG_zh.md.
- AGENTS.md: drop the backend pointer so this branch adds nothing to the
guidance chains closest to their size limit; the scheduler-side rules
and the lifespan order now live in app/channels/AGENTS.md.
* docs(changelog): cite #6135 next to #4843 for the notification outbox entry
* fix(scheduler, channels): re-check the IM binding at delivery time; park WeCom transport errors, count its rejections
Review round 1 on #6135.
The delivery worker now takes resolve_connections (the Gateway wires
ChannelConnectionRepository.list_connections) and, before the channel
liveness check and the summary read, requires the row's owner to still
hold a connected (provider, external_account_id). A disconnected target
is finalized with mark_failed(terminal=True); a lookup failure or an
unexpected result shape parks the row. Terminal outbox rows ignore
later status writes.
WeCom: the SDK raises RuntimeError from send_message for a socket that
is not open and for a dropped connection, but also for a platform
rejection ("Reply ack error: errcode=..."). Only that prefix keeps
counting; other RuntimeErrors, ConnectionError/TimeoutError/OSError and
websockets' ConnectionClosed park the row as ChannelUnavailable.
* fix(channels): treat a WeCom ACK rejection as proof the transport is up; pin the rejection prefix through the retry branch and the real connection-row shape

Mirror the English README's Startup Modes section (introduced and refined in #5995) into the Chinese version: the startup mode matrix, the stop/restart commands, and the SKIP_FRONTEND_BUILD opt-in note. README_zh previously had no documented way to run services in daemon or production mode or to stop/restart them.

* fix(goal): show the goal evaluator the tool calls and results
The evaluator read only the text of user and assistant messages and was told
to fail closed without explicit evidence, so it stood down with
missing_evidence on most completed file tasks: the tool calls and tool
results that the web UI shows never reached it.
Include the assistant's tool calls and the tools' results inside the
existing message window, shortened (200 characters per argument value, 600
per step, line breaks kept), and tell the evaluator to treat tool results as
data, that a successful tool call alone does not meet a goal, and that a
guessed input means needs_user_input. The no-progress and final-clear
signatures are unchanged.
* fix(goal): tighten the evaluator's tool evidence after review
- Pair each tool result with the latest call of its id before it. Some
providers reuse ids such as call_0 across turns, and the window-wide
map labelled an earlier read with a later write's name.
- Keep model-supplied tool names on one line in calls and result labels,
and escape U+0085, U+2028 and U+2029 in arguments and results, which
json.dumps(ensure_ascii=False) leaves raw, so no tool step can start a
new evidence line.
- Leave out the results of a hidden assistant message's calls. The web UI
renders a result only under its call, so neither shows there either.
A clarification prompt stays: the UI shows it as its own card.
- Over the 12,000-char cap, keep whole lines from the end instead of
slicing mid-line. Keep the latest user message that the cut drops at
the top, whole when it and the lines after it fit, else shortened to
2,000 chars. If the next assistant message back does not fit whole,
keep its end in the room left. A marker counts the lines left out.
- Docs: the Gateway AGENTS.md and a worker docstring no longer say the
evaluator never sees tool messages.

* docs(zh): add the missing External Chat Message Roles section to README_zh
Adds the 'External Chat Message Roles' section to the Chinese README,

local-verification PoC instructions (poc_external_system_message_injection.py,
--expect vulnerable / --expect blocked). The referenced script exists at
backend/tests/poc_external_system_message_injection.py.
The English TOC does not list this subsection either, so the zh TOC is
left unchanged to stay consistent (same approach as #5409).

* feat: add optional role filtering to task history search
* docs: scope history role guidance to task continuity
* test: register task continuity guidance in scoped inventory
* docs: separate English guidance from Chinese README translation
* feat(models): add declarative reasoning capability contract (#5073)
Introduce an optional per-model `reasoning:` block beside the legacy
`supports_thinking` / `supports_reasoning_effort` booleans. It declares
thinking availability (unsupported | optional | required), the accepted
effort values with aliases, default, and serialization path, the payload
dialect, and the reasoning-history requirement. When present the booleans
are derived from it and contradictory profiles fail at config load.
`deerflow.models.reasoning` normalizes legacy and declared profiles into
one immutable contract and resolves every caller's generic request against
it. `create_chat_model` is the single enforcement point: required-thinking
models never receive a synthesized disable payload, unsupported effort
values never reach the provider, and the dialect synthesizes the on/off
payload when no template exists. Legacy profiles keep the historical path
byte-for-byte. The lead agent and subagent descriptor resolve the same
policy first so run metadata reports effective values.
`/api/models` and `DeerFlowClient` project the contract as `reasoning`;
the frontend derives mode clamping and effort choices from it through
`core/models/reasoning.ts`, and user preferences accept provider-specific
effort tokens. The setup wizard's Z.AI GLM-5.3-Flash profile migrates to
the contract, restoring its low/high/max effort control.
* docs(models): move the reasoning contract guidance into models/AGENTS.md
backend/AGENTS.md sits within 46 bytes of the 96 KiB effective-chain hard
limit for the middlewares, runtime, sandbox, and subagents guides, so the
new section pushed scripts/check_agent_guidance.py over it. The models
guide is the nearest file for the factory and the contract module, and
its chain has ample room.
* fix(models): address review on the reasoning contract
- vLLM dialect: the enable path now mirrors whichever chat_template_kwargs
switch the template declares, like the disable path already did, so a
template using the older `thinking` key no longer also grows
`enable_thinking`.
- Validate operator-supplied effort values at `effort.path` inside
`when_thinking_enabled`, `when_thinking_disabled`, and the `thinking`
shortcut against the contract, not only the profile-level value; they are
forwarded when the caller chooses nothing, so the "unknown values never
reach the provider" guarantee now holds for them too.
- Constrain `effort.path` to dotted identifiers and reject single-segment
paths that would replace a whole mapping (`extra_body`, `thinking`,
`model_kwargs`, `default_headers`, `default_query`).
- Z.AI GLM-5.3-Flash profile: `default: high` instead of `max`, because the
default also governs summarization, title generation, and subagent calls
that never choose an effort; `max` stays selectable. Documented in the
config example, the configuration manual, and the design note.
* fix(models): close reasoning contract review gaps
* fix(models): preserve native Ollama reasoning config
* fix(models): keep native reasoning strings and project reasoning into the descriptor
- `ModelConfig.reasoning` also accepts the level string ChatOllama takes
for gpt-oss style models (`low` / `medium` / `high`); the factory forwards
both the boolean and the string on the legacy path, so profiles that
passed `reasoning: high` through before the contract field existed keep
loading and keep sending it.
- The assembly descriptor no longer excludes `reasoning` from
`model_parameters`: the native ChatOllama value and a declared contract's
dialect/history/effort change the request payload, so they now move the
assembly fingerprint.
- e2e: the sidecar spec pinned the pre-contract body where a model without
effort control still received `reasoning_effort: minimal`; the preset is
now dropped for such models (the Gateway discarded it anyway), so the
assertion expects the key to be absent.
* docs(zh): add the missing Reading a Referenced Conversation section to README_zh
Adds the 'Reading a Referenced Conversation' section to the Chinese README,
mirroring the section #5465 added to the English README. Same position
(between Context Engineering and Long-Term Memory), translated rather than
paraphrased — including the read_conversation / conversation_references
run fields, the context.conversation_references SDK fallback, the web
'引用会话' (Reference a conversation) button, and both doc links (targets
verified to exist).
The English TOC does not list this section either, so the zh TOC is left
unchanged to stay consistent.

* feat(projects): Projects MVP Phase 2 — instructions, document shelf, promotion, trash
Implements docs/superpowers/specs/2026-09-12-projects-mvp-phase2-design.md
(issue #5160, tracker #5129) in the slice order of the spec's §16.
Slices:
- A: ProjectsConfig + write-time 422 UTF-8 byte cap; PROJECT_CONTEXT_KEY
admission pinning (both server-owned sets + worker hoist); latest-only
request-scoped <project> block via DynamicContextMiddleware
wrap_model_call/awrap_model_call (idempotent reassembly, reserved ID
prefix + marker + provenance, never persisted); journal audit
fingerprints; Instructions tab.
- B: ProjectDocumentRow + migration 0023; ProjectDocumentRepository with
locked check-and-set; hash-qualified immutable shelf storage with
Paths helpers; upload/list/content/delete-to-trash routes; project
delete trashes the shelf in-transaction; request-scoped bounded
<documents> index with honest count/shown + actionable overflow note;
list_project_documents/read_project_document tools registered only on
pinned runs; PAT allowlist + drift guards; blocking-IO anchors.
- C: shared thread-upload ingestion service (uploads router refactored to
parity); POST from-thread with provenance; attach-to-thread with
lock-staged copy (archived source allowed); read-only thread-files
view with per-group truncation reporting.
- D: restore (restored/merged/not_found/no_target/content_missing; no
file moves), purge (continuous row lock across unlink/delete/commit,
retryable on FS errors), retention sweep (lazy + startup, 24h orphan
guard, row-side reconciliation never deletes).
- E: Documents tab (shelf + conversation-files browser, provenance,
archived banner, content-missing rows), /workspace/trash route,
sidebar entry, composer attach handoff, i18n (en-US/zh-CN), e2e mocks
+ specs.
Review hardening folded in (10 rounds, all with tests):
- force active shelf content (HTML/XML family) to download; nosniff on
artifact + content responses; unified unsandboxed-iframe PDF preview
(fixes the pre-existing Chromium sandbox blank in the artifact viewer)
- scope document trash to the URL project under the document lock
- atomic no-overwrite filename reservation for ALL ingestion (seeded
claims + os.link commit with suffix retry; same-name re-upload now
unique-names instead of replacing); hidden staging only, no visible
placeholders; lease cleanup on setup failure
- serialize conversion under the document lock with post-lock active
revalidation; drain locked filesystem work on cancellation; preserve
bytes when an insert's commit state is uncertain (including trashed
rows)
- original-integrity checks before serving text or cached conversions;
content_missing surfaced in list responses (UI reads the flag, no
409-probe); downloads always serve original bytes
- bounded streaming document reads with cached char counts; shelf limits
declared in middleware release identity
- thread-root confinement for from-thread sources; config fallback
rejects fractional/infinite values; composer counts staged
attachments; pending attachments persist until submission or removal;
in-flight instruction/rename edits survive save refetches; shelf and
trash pagination; conversation-file and thread-files pages stay
subscribed to refetches
Docs: README/README_zh, backend API.md/ARCHITECTURE.md, AGENTS.md
contracts, config.example.yaml projects block.
Review follow-ups (head b4807477 → this revision):
- The trash retention sweep is split so repeated lazy triggers stay
bounded: the indexed expiry purge still runs on every trigger
(GET /api/trash/documents, POST /api/trash/purge) while the
O(all rows + all files) reconciliation is throttled to one run per
user per 15 minutes (process-local, per-user window). The startup
sweep now runs as a background task instead of blocking gateway
readiness, and shutdown awaits it (bounded).
- The export scrub (stripInternalMarkers) is fence- and indentation-aware
like the render path, so a pasted, fenced <project>/<documents> snippet
survives markdown export while real injected blocks (never fenced) are
still removed. Fence regexes moved to a dependency-free leaf module to
avoid the messages↔streamdown import cycle.
- The artifact viewer's PDF iframe no longer carries an added title
attribute (the upstream e2e contract locates it via :not([title])), and
the upstream artifact-preview spec now pins the new contract: PDFs
render unsandboxed, images keep sandbox="".
* fix(projects): round-2 review — cancel an overrun trash sweep, restore the PDF frame title
- Shutdown cancelled only the shield around the background startup sweep,
so an all-users reconciliation that outlived the 5s budget kept walking
rows and files while the document repo and DB engine were disposed
underneath it. The wait now lives in `_shutdown_startup_trash_sweep`,
which cancels the task and drains it before worker exit: the shield
keeps the wait bounded, the cancel makes it final (CancelledError lands
at the sweep's next await, and `_run_startup_trash_sweep` only catches
`Exception`, so nothing swallows it).
- The browser-preview iframe lost `title={getFileName(filepath)}` in the
previous fix round, leaving the PDF frame without an accessible name
while its siblings keep theirs. Restore it (WCAG frame titles), assert
it in the DOM test, and anchor the e2e on `iframe[title="report.pdf"]`
instead of `iframe:not([title])`.
* fix(projects): round-3 review — report the sweep's late finish, not a phantom cancel
`Task.cancel()` returns False when the sweep already finished inside the
window between the deadline firing and the cancel, so the shutdown log
claimed a cancellation that never happened. Branch on that outcome: the
warning stays for a real cancel, a late finish is logged at info, and both
paths still reap the task before worker exit.
* fix(projects): round-4 review — make Empty trash delete what it confirms
`POST /api/trash/purge` only ran the retention sweep, and the sweep's
candidate selection is age-gated, so a freshly trashed document survived
"Empty trash" even though the confirmation promises that every listed
document is permanently deleted. With one trashed row the route answered
`{"purged": 0}` and left it in place; `GET /api/trash/documents` sweeps
expired rows before listing, so the visible rows were normally ineligible
for the action by construction.
Empty trash now drives `purge_all_trashed`: the caller's trashed rows
(`list_all_trashed`, no age filter) each go through the same guarded,
row-locked `purge` as the single-document delete — bytes first, then the
row, in one transaction — so a row restored mid-flight is skipped instead of
force-deleted, and an unlink failure rolls that row back and answers 500 with
a retryable message. Retention expiry stays where it was: the sweep's
`purge_candidates` is now the only age-gated selection, and the lazy
retention sweep still runs on the listing and at startup.
Tests: the router suite replaces the retention-gated expectation with the
reviewer's repro (fresh row purged, bytes unlinked, shelf and other users'
trash untouched, a failing unlink stays retryable and 500); a blocking-I/O
anchor drives the new entry point through the offload; the mocked e2e covers
the action end to end; a new real-backend spec performs it against the real
gateway and re-reads `GET /api/trash/documents`. README, API, ARCHITECTURE
and the phase-2 design docs (en+zh) state the age-independent contract.

missed-beat catch-up, bounded by min_once_delay_seconds and 30 days.
* fix(scheduler): let interval tasks create, edit, and keep next run
Create/edit now keep every_seconds. Unchanged interval spec no longer
resets next_run_at, including timezone-only PATCH.
* fix(scheduler): keep non-minute intervals on edit
Stop rounding every_seconds to whole minutes in the form. Values that
are not whole minutes or hours now use a seconds unit so edit/duplicate
round-trips the stored cadence instead of rewriting it and resetting
next_run_at. Document that min_once_delay_seconds is also the interval
floor.
* fix(scheduler): clamp interval seconds to the default 60s floor
The new seconds unit allowed 1–59, which the API rejects under the
default min_once_delay_seconds. Clamp the form to >= 60 and show the
floor next to the preview. Also mention interval in the scheduler
field_doc, matching config.example.yaml.
* fix(scheduler): do not clamp interval amount while typing
Keystroke clamp made 90 become 9 -> 60, then 600, and backspace could
not leave 60. Keep the raw field text and apply the 60s floor on blur
and emit only.
* test(scheduler): cover interval input editing
* fix(frontend): preserve saved interval cadence until edited
* style(tests): format scheduled task router tests

* feat(scheduler): let scheduled tasks pin a custom agent
Create and update accept optional assistant_id, defaulting to lead_agent.
Custom names are normalized and must already exist for the task owner.
The workspace form exposes the same choice, and duplicate copies it.
Fixes#5286
* fix(scheduler): keep assistant-id PR free of interval tests
Drop the six interval tests that belonged to the interval schedule PR
and fail here because this tree still only accepts once/cron.
Treat lead_agent case-insensitively so LEAD_AGENT / lead-agent store
as the default. Omit unchanged assistant_id on edit so a deleted custom
agent does not 422 unrelated PATCH (rename, reschedule).
* fix(scheduler): format task page and browser tests

Continues the zh/en README drift follow-up (#5222 covered the LangGraph
Studio section). The English README documents Request Trace Correlation
as a standalone section between the slash-command table and LangSmith
Tracing; the zh README only mentioned the correlation id in passing
inside its Langfuse section.
Add the translated section in the same position (after the
slash-command table, before LangSmith 链路追踪), covering: X-Trace-Id
inheritance/generation and the response header, propagation to detached
runs / subagents / background memory threads, the logging.enhance
config, the deerflow_trace_id semantics (not a run id, not a provider
trace id, not a lookup key, ignored-and-overwritten when supplied by the
caller), terminal run.delivery receipts with orphan-recovery behavior,
and the loop-detection / deferred-tool-promotion run event records.
The Chinese README had drifted from the English one: the entire
"LangGraph Studio (Optional)" section (including the standalone
langgraph dev workflow, server-owned assistant provenance in that mode,
the persisted-store repair note, the authenticated-identity consumption
for custom agents/skills/uploads/memory, the /mnt/user-data/outputs
native-delivery enforcement, and the dual LangGraph streaming interfaces
for custom events) was never translated and had no zh counterpart.
Add the translated section in the same position it occupies in the
English README (after the local development walkthrough, before
进阶配置), keeping the en section structure aligned. Verified the
section heading now exists on both sides and that no relative links are
affected.
* refactor(gateway): issue request trace ids unconditionally
The request trace id was gated behind logging.enhance.enabled at every
entry point, so downstream code had to keep asking whether one existed:
a header-provenance flag in its own ContextVar, a precedence resolver,
and three-level carrier fallbacks at each consumer.
Bind one unconditionally instead. TraceMiddleware covers Gateway HTTP;
ensure_trace_context covers the entry points that never touch ASGI --
scheduled occurrences, MCP task notification runs, IM channel messages,
and the embedded client -- each scoped to one unit of work so a
long-lived worker task cannot leak one occurrence's id into the next.
The ContextVar becomes the only source; the response header, runtime
context, run metadata and log records are derived outputs.
Consumers now use ensure_trace_id() or resolve_trace_id(*carriers) and
drop their presence guards. Removed: resolve_deerflow_trace_id, the
header-provenance flag and its three helpers, set/reset_current_trace_id,
is_trace_correlation_enabled and its gateway alias.
BREAKING CHANGE: every Gateway HTTP response now carries X-Trace-Id and
it cannot be turned off; logging.enhance.enabled controls log output
only. Installations on the default enabled: false will start seeing the
header. No config keys were added or removed.
* fix(gateway): stop persisting a caller-supplied trace id on the run record
body.metadata forks two ways: through build_run_config into the live run
config, which the run worker restamps, and through create_or_reject into
the run record that the runs API echoes verbatim. Only the first was
covered, so a client sending metadata.deerflow_trace_id made the most
durable and most visible surface of a run disagree with the X-Trace-Id
and the log lines the same request produced -- a correlation id that
does not match the logs is worse than none.
Stamp the server-issued id once at the trust boundary so both forks
receive it, preserving the caller's own metadata keys. Close the same
gap on config.context, which reaches the runtime context by a separate
path: _build_runtime_context no longer merges server-owned keys from the
caller, and _install_runtime_context assigns rather than setdefaults.
A thread's metadata is no longer seeded with the run-scoped id of
whichever run created it -- one thread spans many runs and as many
trace ids.
Found by driving a real run through the Gateway and reading the run back
from the runs API; every unit test built its metadata by hand and so
could not see it.
* fix(gateway): expose X-Trace-Id to split-origin browser clients
X-Trace-Id is not on the CORS safelist, so a browser client served from
a separate origin could not read it -- and those are exactly the clients
that cannot read the Gateway's logs either, leaving them with nothing to
quote in a bug report. Same-origin nginx deployments were unaffected,
which is why this stayed hidden.
Add it to CORS_EXPOSED_HEADERS beside Content-Location, referencing
TRACE_ID_HEADER rather than repeating the literal.
* fix(gateway): keep X-Trace-Id on unhandled-exception 500s
Starlette's ServerErrorMiddleware sits outside every user middleware and
emits unhandled-exception 500s through the raw send, so those responses
never pass TraceMiddleware's header-writing wrapper. The 500 for a server
bug is exactly the response a user most needs to correlate with a log line,
and it was the one response that shipped without the id.
TraceMiddleware now tracks whether http.response.start has been sent. On an
exception with no response started it emits its own plain 500 carrying the
header, then re-raises: the outer ServerErrorMiddleware sees the response
already started and only re-raises too, so the server's exception logging is
untouched. An exception mid-stream keeps propagating unchanged — a second
response start cannot be sent, and the already-written header stands.
The trace id is printable ASCII by construction (normalize_trace_id /
generate_trace_id), which is what makes the raw latin-1 header encoding
safe.
* fix(gateway): strip the forged trace id from the persisted request echo
The run-record fix stopped a forged metadata.deerflow_trace_id on the
authoritative metadata surface, but the raw request echo still carried one:
create_or_reject persists body.config verbatim as runs.kwargs_json, which
the runs API serves back. A client posting config.context.deerflow_trace_id
therefore still got its forged value stored and echoed on one API surface
while the header, logs, run metadata, and checkpoint all carried the real
id — the id is ignored as input there, so echoing it back only manufactures
disagreement.
Two changes close it. redact_config_secrets — already the shared scrub for
that echo, applied at admission and again at serve time, so historical
records are covered too — now also drops deerflow_trace_id from
config.metadata and config.context. And build_run_config now merges run
metadata onto a copy of the caller's config["metadata"] instead of updating
it in place: the nested values of the request config are reference copies,
so the in-place merge was writing the server-stamped key through into
body.config, contaminating the "what the client sent" record before it was
persisted (and incidentally masking the forged-value echo on the metadata
container).
The regression test posts a forged id through body.metadata,
config.metadata, and config.context at once and reads the kwargs echo back
off the run record, failing if either leak returns.
* docs(harness): record the trace-echo scrub, 500 fallback, and accepted retry divergence
The trace section of the harness AGENTS.md now covers the two fixes that
close the derived-output rule (the kwargs-echo scrub in
redact_config_secrets plus build_run_config's copy merge, and
TraceMiddleware's own 500 for unhandled exceptions), and CHANGELOG gains
their Fixed entries.
It also writes down the one accepted divergence: a crash-recovered
scheduled launch reuses the durable run through its idempotency key, and
start_run returns early on idempotency_reused without restamping — so the
run record keeps the first attempt's deerflow_trace_id while the retry's
own log lines carry the freshly minted id of its ensure_trace_context
binding. The divergence is confined to the crash-recovery window and is
accepted rather than fixed: restamping on reuse would rewrite a persisted
record for a run that already exists, which is worse than two ids that each
correlate their own attempt's logs. Written down so the next reader of the
scheduler recovery path does not diagnose it as a bug.
* docs(config): align the logging.enhance schema note with the unconditional trace id
The config-module AGENTS.md still described logging.enhance as the gate for
the Gateway X-Trace-Id header and Langfuse deerflow_trace_id. That model is
gone: ids are issued unconditionally and this block decides log output only.
Left as-is, the stale wording invites an agent to "restore" a header gate it
believes was lost. Reworded to match the sibling AGENTS.md files and
config.example.yaml, with a pointer to the Request Trace Context section
that owns the full model.
* docs(changelog): link the trace entries to #5119
The five new entries pointed at the ([#XXXX]) placeholder with no reference
definition, rendering as literal text instead of a link — and RELEASING.md
step 2 relies on those references when the section becomes release notes.
All five now point at #5119, with the definition appended to the reference
block.
* refactor(harness): rename _stream_without_trace_context to _stream_turn
The name asserted the opposite of what the method now does. It was accurate
while logging.enhance.enabled could route stream() around the trace scope;
with the gate gone it is the only stream implementation left, and it binds
the id itself via ensure_trace_id(). Private, so the rename touches only the
definition and the one stream() call site.
* docs(harness): fit the trace-context guidance inside the AGENTS.md chain budget
The expanded Request Trace Context section pushed the effective AGENTS.md
chain for agents/middlewares to 99,815 bytes, past the 98,304 hard limit
scripts/check_agent_guidance.py enforces in CI (AG002). Compressed the
section from 7,359 to 4592 bytes with no facts removed: the entry-point
table, the derived-output rule and its enforcement points, the accepted
scheduled-retry divergence, the two resolution helpers, the stream()
binding rationale, the log-output-only gate, the CORS listing, the 500
fallback, and the test map all remain.
Sized against the merge, not just the branch: current main grew the same
chain by ~724 bytes, so the check was verified on the merged tree as well
(97,772 bytes; branch tree 97,048).
* fix(gateway): declare content-length on the fallback 500
The pre-response 500 declared content-type but no content-length, leaving
the framing to the ASGI server: chunked on HTTP/1.1, close-delimited on
HTTP/1.0 — the one wire difference from the ServerErrorMiddleware response
it replaces, which sends content-length: 21. The explicit header keeps the
fallback byte-identical to what clients saw before.
* docs(readme): drop the trace-correlation condition from the translations
The zh/ja/fr/ru Langfuse sections still said metadata.deerflow_trace_id
matches X-Trace-Id "when request trace correlation is enabled". The id now
always matches and that condition no longer exists, so each bullet states
the unconditional match and that logging.enhance.enabled only controls
whether the id is printed into logs — the one piece of the feature a user
can still configure.
* test(gateway): pin TraceMiddleware wiring through create_app()
Every X-Trace-Id test exercised a hand-built four-route app, so the real
stack's add_middleware(TraceMiddleware) line was pinned by nothing: deleting
it — or short-circuiting above it — passed CI while silently dropping both
the response header and the ambient id the run-record stamp and enhanced log
records derive from. One case now drives /health through create_app() and
asserts the inbound id round-trips; mutation-checked by removing the wiring
line, which fails exactly this test.
* docs(gateway): note the fallback 500 is CORS-opaque
The pre-response 500 is emitted outside CORSMiddleware — the exception has
already unwound past it — so it carries no Access-Control-Allow-Origin and
a split-origin browser client cannot read the id on this one response,
unchanged from the ServerErrorMiddleware 500 it replaces. Documented on the
class and in the CHANGELOG entry rather than fixed: replicating the origin
allowlist outside CORSMiddleware would let the two policies drift.
* fix(harness): keep abandoned-stream cleanup inside the trace binding
stream() binds the turn's id around each next(inner) and resets it before
yielding, but the finally's inner.close() ran after that binding was gone.
Abandoning the stream therefore drove the inner LangGraph generator's
GeneratorExit/finally path with no trace id — or an unrelated ambient one
from whichever context ran the close — so cancellation and finalization
logs and callbacks did not correlate with the turn they belong to.
inner.close() is now wrapped in a local bind/reset of the same turn id. The
token is set and reset in the same frame, never across a yield, so the
per-step cross-context safety is preserved even when GC closes the
generator from another Context — pinned by the existing copy_context close
test, which now exercises this path. The regression test records the id
from the inner generator's finally and fails without the binding.
* test(harness): teach the worker-trace fake about RunManager.cleanup
Upstream #5112 (bound gateway memory after terminal runs) added a
run_manager.cleanup(run_id) call to run_agent's finalization, so the
merge-commit CI run failed all five worker-trace-binding tests with
AttributeError on this PR's _FakeRunManager. The fake gains the same no-op
shape as its other methods.
* docs(gateway): bring the gateway AGENTS.md back under its soft budget
Upstream #5092 grew backend/app/gateway/AGENTS.md to 40,966 bytes, 6 over
the 40,960 soft budget that
test_agent_guidance_check.py::test_repository_guidance_stays_below_soft_budgets_and_avoids_doc_indexes
enforces — its Unit Tests run on main was cancelled by push concurrency, so
main is currently red on that test and every PR merge-run inherits the
failure. Two whitespace/wording trims in the row #5092 touched (a doubled
space, and "its configured `context_window`" → "its `context_window`")
bring the file to 40,953 with no content change.

The English Security Notice has four subsections; the Chinese one had two.
Translate the two that were missing:
- Gateway Admin Is Equivalent to Code Execution
- Deployment Defaults
Both describe deployment-time security behavior, so a stale translation
leaves Chinese-speaking operators without the loopback-default and
first-run-setup guidance that English readers get.
Verified against the code rather than translated blind:
- stdio MCP allowlist defaults to {npx, uvx} and is extended via
DEER_FLOW_MCP_STDIO_COMMAND_ALLOWLIST
(backend/app/gateway/routers/mcp.py)
- entry port publishes as ${BIND_HOST:-127.0.0.1}:${PORT:-2026}
(docker/docker-compose.yaml)
- /setup exists as the first-run admin creation route
(frontend/src/app/(auth)/setup/page.tsx)

* fix(docker): create compose env files and keep Windows compose paths relative
Windows Docker reports a generic file-not-found when env_file targets are missing, or when compose paths are doubled. Make docker-start copy .env examples and invoke compose with filenames relative to docker/.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
* fix(docker): make dev compose env files optional and repair test fixture
Address review feedback on #4956.
[P1] prepare_compose_env aborted before the mocked COMPOSE_CMD in
test_compose_commands_set_deer_flow_root_before_compose, because the
temp root had no compose file or .env examples. Seed them in the
fixture so the preflight reaches the mock.
[P2] .env is gitignored, so a fresh clone has none and a direct
`docker compose -f docker/docker-compose-dev.yaml up --build` aborts on
Windows before scripts/docker.sh can help. Mark the dev env_file entries
`required: false` so a missing .env is not fatal, and document that
direct Compose must be run from the repository root.

* fix(docker): declare Compose 2.24 floor and keep non-start commands read-only
Address the second review round on #4956.
- Document Compose >= 2.24 (CONTRIBUTING, README, compose header) and fail
early from make docker-start with an actionable message; probe both
`docker compose` and the hyphenated `docker-compose` binary.
- Document DEER_FLOW_ROOT for direct Compose callers (bash + PowerShell);
leave the variable without a $PWD fallback because PowerShell/cmd do not
export it.
- Split prepare_compose_env: compose_preflight is shared and read-only;
ensure_env_files runs only from start.
- Expand tests for version boundaries, hyphenated fallback, env-file
creation, and read-only stop/logs/restart behavior.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
* fix(docker): reuse the probed Compose binary for wrapper operations
The version probe could accept a standalone docker-compose install while
COMPOSE_CMD stayed hardcoded to `docker compose`, so preflight passed and
start/logs/stop/restart then failed. Keep the selected executable in
COMPOSE_BIN (array), refresh COMPOSE_CMD from it in the current shell, and
extend the fallback test through an actual stop invocation.
