The 7.x line ships only a version stub at the `typescript` entry point and no longer exposes the synchronous compiler API, so the `ts.transpileModule` call that `ConnectionMetadata.test.ts` uses to compile `main.ts` and `plugin.ts` into a sandboxed browser context failed with "Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'CommonJS')", taking all 11 plugin connection tests down. 6.0.3 restores that API and matches the version the frontend and plugins packages already pin.
