* 🚑 Drop invoke_* glue checks from staging CI
The .github backport from develop added check-no-invoke-v to WASM and
Exporter CI, but staging still ships glue that uses invoke_* wrappers.
Remove those steps (and the WASM production build only used by the
check) so staging CI matches the binary it builds.
* 🔧 Disable credential persistence in commit-checker checkout
zizmor fails CI: Workflows when actions/checkout omits
persist-credentials: false. Match the rest of the workflows.
Move the backend JDK to its latest maintenance build within Java 26 and
refresh the dependency versions pinned by hand in the development and
production images.
- Backend: Zulu JDK 26.0.2 to 26.0.2.1. The jlink module list keeps
jdk.management, so the prometheus process metrics stay exported.
- Node.js 24.22.1 in .nvmrc, the development image tarball and the two
plugins deploy workflows that pin it.
- pnpm 12.15.0 in the four Dockerfiles, the 34 packageManager fields and
the eleven lockfiles.
- Development tools: clj-kondo 2026.10.20, Babashka 1.13.226, Pixi
0.83.0, GitHub CLI 2.103.0, AWS CLI 2.38.5 and uv 0.13.5.
- Infra services: RustFS 1.0.3, Mailpit v1.32.0, and Valkey pinned to
8.1.10 instead of the floating 8.1 tag.
Fix SERENA_UPDATE_VERSION in the compose file. A value there makes the
start script reinstall that Serena release on every start, overriding
the one baked into the image; it was replacing 1.7.0 with 1.6.1.
The hardened base image updates are left to Renovate.

Bump the pnpm pin to 12.14.0 in the devenv and the production images
and stamp the same version into every package.json, realigning the
drift between the devenv (12.9.1) and the rest (12.6.0).
Bump Node to v24.22.0, the newest patch of the Krypton LTS line, in
.nvmrc, the devenv and image Dockerfiles and the plugins-deploy
workflows.
The pnpm arch checksums are those of the GitHub release tarballs, not
of the npm package. Lockfile changes are metadata only.

Add a check-commit-guidelines job to commit-checker.yml
that runs scripts/check-commit on every new commit, so
the Co-authored-by ban holds in CI too. PR events check
out the base ref, keeping the executed script trusted.

* 🔧 Fail CI when render-wasm JS glue exports invoke_*V
Add check-no-invoke-v (path from _build_env) and run it in CI: WASM
after a production frontend build so JS longjmp + SIMD ABI
regressions are caught in the pipeline.
* 🐛 Fail closed in render-wasm invoke_* glue check
* 🔧 Check exporter wasm glue for any invoke_* wrapper

* 🎉 Move backend jobs to the unified job table substrate
Replace the generic 'task' table with a unified 'job' table as the
durable substrate for all backend jobs, and migrate every producer
and consumer to it. The legacy 'task' table stops receiving writes
but stays dormant (still cleaned by tasks-gc); upload-session
chunking and the other post-branch upstream changes are preserved.
New 0154 migration creates the 'job' table: dispatch and lifecycle
columns (name, queue, priority, scheduled_at, retries, status,
timestamps, props) plus optional user-facing ledger columns
(profile_id, target, progress, error, result, resource_id,
expires_at). No modified_at trigger: the application updates it on
every write for lease and orphan detection. Partial indexes cover
the dispatcher claim query, orphan scanning, and per-profile
listing.
New app.jobs public API: submit!/invoke!, heartbeats and progress
reporting, a precompiled job-def registry (name, schema, handler,
decoder, validator), an ephemeral request/response mode, and a
management API for external workers. The dispatcher claims
new/retry rows (FOR UPDATE SKIP LOCKED) with a plain JSON redis
payload and marks lease-expired running rows as orphaned; the
runner executes per-queue with the same retry conventions.
New jobs GC (daily): deletes expired rows and retains internal
terminal rows per :jobs-retention, touching referenced storage
objects so storage-gc-touched reclaims them. Job resources live in
a dedicated job-resource bucket with a reclaim branch in
storage-gc-touched.
All production call-sites (sendmail, delete-object, demo-purge,
file-gc, offload, webhooks, quotes, nitrate bulk delete,
snapshots, telemetry) and the ten cron tasks now submit through
app.jobs; cron is a pure scheduler and the legacy worker registry,
task-table inserts, and per-namespace handlers are removed.
Includes migrations, dispatcher, runner, jobs, request/response,
jobs GC, management API, and cron test suites.

* ✨ Address review comments on jobs substrate
Resolves the four open review threads on the jobs PR. Orphaned jobs
are now marked aborted, a system-side terminal state with no retry:
the dispatcher sweep stores the end event with outcome aborted in a
single bulk insert in the same transaction, records the terminal
outcome next to the orphaned counter, and reports an error log;
orphans keep alerting through the log and the counter, with no
user notification.
The aborted state is terminal everywhere: the status CHECK, the
sweep, the lifecycle writers, the jobs GC retention, the backlog
gauges and the user status mapping, with tests covering each
transition. The claim comment, the 2.20 doc version and the legacy
task table notes are corrected, and objects-gc heartbeats per chunk.

A git ref accepts characters that a Docker tag does not, such as "/" in
feature/foo, which made the promote and retag steps fail. Tag images with
a slug of the ref instead (anything outside [A-Za-z0-9._-] becomes "-",
at most 100 chars), as payments already does. develop, staging and
release tags are unchanged.

Deploy workflows must not restore a cache that other workflows can
write to. The pnpm store cache is removed from the api-doc and
styles-doc deploys; installs are slower but deploys are infrequent.
Also install with --frozen-lockfile in the three plugin deploys, as CI
already does by default, so a deploy never resolves dependencies that
differ from the lockfile.

Request a token for this repository only, instead of every repository
in the installation, and only with the permissions the job uses: issues

The job only reads commit messages, which works with the pull_request
trigger for PRs from forks too. Running it on both triggers checked every
PR twice, once with a privileged token it does not need.

Add an explicit permissions block to every workflow that relied on the
repository default. Entry points that only call reusable workflows get
permissions: {} and grant each call what the called workflow needs:
contents: read for the bundle and docker builds, contents: write for the
release, nothing for the admin-console dispatch (it uses its own token).
Workflows that check out code get contents: read; the commit checker
also gets pull-requests: read to list the PR commits.

Set persist-credentials: false on every actions/checkout step, so the
job token is not left in .git/config for the rest of the job. No step
after checkout pushes or fetches with it. The only authenticated operation,
gh release in release.yml, uses GH_TOKEN.

Parallel deploy jobs on the shared self-hosted host raced on
/home/runner/setup-pnpm (ENOTEMPTY / missing tarball errors).
Use penpotapp/devenv, which already ships the Node and pnpm versions
pinned in develop, and mount a persistent pnpm store from the host
instead of pnpm/setup + actions/cache.

Values coming from `${{ }}` expressions were interpolated directly into
`run:` scripts, so GitHub substituted them into the shell source before
bash parsed it. A commit title containing a double quote broke the
"Write step summary" step of the bundle build with a syntax error, and
the same pattern allowed arbitrary command execution on the
self-hosted runners.
Pass every expression used inside `run:` through step/job `env:` and
reference it as a quoted shell variable instead. Use the runner's
default variables (GITHUB_RUN_ID, GITHUB_REPOSITORY, ...) where the
value comes from the `github` context.
Also validate `plugin_name` in plugins-deploy-package.yml against
`^[a-z0-9][a-z0-9-]*$`, since it is free-form and reaches paths,
worker names, GITHUB_ENV and action inputs.
Affected workflows: build-bundle, build-docker,
build-docker-admin-console, plugins-deploy-package,
plugins-deploy-api-doc, plugins-deploy-styles-doc, release, tests-e2e.

_DEVELOP and _STAGING chain build-bundle.yml -> build-docker.yml,
both invoked with gh_ref as a branch name. Each reusable workflow
re-resolves that branch with its own checkout, at its own time.
build-docker's checkout happens minutes after build-bundle's, after
new commits can have landed on the branch, so it can compute a
different sha than the one build-bundle actually bundled and
uploaded to S3.
The Prepare job then requests a key that was never uploaded:
fatal error: An error occurred (404) when calling the HeadObject
operation: Key "penpot-sha-<newer-sha>.zip" does not exist
Expose build-bundle.yml's resolved sha as a workflow_call output and
thread it through _DEVELOP, _STAGING and _ADHOC as build-docker.yml's
new optional sha input, which pins its checkout instead of
re-resolving gh_ref. gh_ref keeps naming the branch tag to move.
_TAG is unaffected: it builds from a pushed git tag, which cannot
move the way a branch can, so build-bundle and build-docker already
agree on one commit there.
