🎉 Allow MCP to work with multiple files in parallel (#11927)
* 🎉 Add multi-file session routing to the MCP server

Session routing:
- Track each user's Penpot connections by session ID.
- Dispatch explicit sessions directly; otherwise discover the sole session.
- Return a retryable error when discovery fails or is incomplete.

Plugin and tools:
- Initialize connections with a fresh session ID and file metadata.
- Share the optional sessionId schema and place it last in tool inputs.

Validation:
- 84 tests, server type checking, and MCP formatting checks pass.
- Disable test logging to avoid the logging worker shutdown hang.

AI-assisted-by: gpt-6

* 🎉 Support independent MCP connections

- Require explicit connection intent for each integrated workspace.
- Derive short session IDs from the Penpot app instance and file.
- Show and copy session IDs in the MCP menu and standalone plugin UI.
- Stop stale callbacks and reconnect attempts after disconnect.

Validate with frontend and plugin tests, type checking, live multi-tab
checks, and standalone UI checks with a simulated connection. Server
tests pass with --test-force-exit; the normal runner can hang on shutdown.

* 📚 Document multi-file MCP sessions

- Explain independent connections, session selection, and copying IDs.
- Describe session ID lifetimes for integrated and standalone plugins.
- Correct browser focus, connection, and recovery guidance.

Validate with the documentation site build and diff checks.

⬆️ Update deps (#11960)
* 🐛 Migrate openUIApi schema to Zod v4 function syntax

Zod 4 removed z.function().args(), which broke the
plugins-runtime build with implicit-any errors on every
openUIApi parameter and knock-on possibly-null errors on
the modal in plugin-manager.

Declare the inputs with z.function({ input: [...] }) so the
parameter and return types infer again; behavior is unchanged.

Add a regression spec covering delegation, optional args and
rejection of invalid theme and title values.

a69f80fe29 ⬆️ Update pnpm to 12.6.0 and opencode pair in devenv
Bump the devenv and image Dockerfiles to pnpm 12.6.0
(latest stable; 12.8.0 is still on the next tag) with
fresh SHA256 pins, and opencode to 1.18.33 plus
opencode2 to 2.0.18 with fresh checksums.

Stamp all 35 package.json files via
scripts/sync-pnpm-version and refresh the 11 lockfiles;
diffs are metadata-only, with no dependency re-resolution.

Drop the last corepack calls from the media-processor
build script and its generated image setup: pnpm now
ships as a system binary and self-heals version drift.

🐛 Fix MCP server build failures on Windows (#11197)
Two Windows-specific issues in packages/server/package.json:

1. Path resolution: `node scripts/copy-resources.js` could fail in some
Windows environments (bash-in-CMD) because the bare relative path gets
mis-parsed. Change to `node ./scripts/copy-resources.js` to make the
   path explicit.

2. esbuild binary not found: bare `esbuild` fails when the node_modules/.bin
shim is not on PATH in certain Windows setups. Change to `pnpm exec esbuild`
so pnpm resolves the local binary via its own mechanism, consistent across
   platforms.

⬆️ Upgrade MCP SDK to v2, removing SSE support and HTTP session management (#11841)
* ⬆️ Upgrade MCP SDK to v2 and remove HTTP sessions

MCP's per-request protocol removes the need to retain HTTP sessions.
Use the v2 handler to manage each request's transport and lifecycle,
so requests can reach any server instance without session affinity
or the workaround that adopts sessions through private SDK fields.

Keep legacy SSE support and the shared plugin and Redis bridges.
Remove the shared expiry checker, including legacy SSE idle expiry;
SSE connections now remain until disconnection or server shutdown.
Verify stateless requests, token isolation, and legacy compatibility.

Resolves #11827

* 🔥 Remove legacy MCP SSE support

Use Streamable HTTP as the sole MCP client transport so the server no
longer needs a separate SSE connection registry or lifecycle.

Remove /sse and /messages, their nginx routes, and the server-legacy
dependency. Legacy SSE clients must switch to /mcp; older Streamable
HTTP clients remain supported. Document the migration and verify that
the removed endpoints return 404.

* 🐳 Replace MinIO with RustFS in devenv

Run RustFS as the development S3 service and wait for its health check.
Install a pinned AWS CLI with checksums and use it to create the bucket
idempotently from each backend entry point.

Keep the old MinIO volume untouched and use a new RustFS volume.

* 🐳 Replace MailCatcher with persistent Mailpit

Run Mailpit as the devenv SMTP sink while preserving mailer:1025 and the
localhost:1080 UI.

Store its SQLite inbox in a named volume and wait for the readiness
endpoint before starting runtime containers. Bind the web UI to loopback so
development emails stay local.

* ⬆️ Update devenv to PostgreSQL 18.6

Run PostgreSQL 18 with its versioned volume layout and a TCP readiness
check that ignores the temporary initialization server.

Install the matching client, create penpot_nexus, and preserve the old
PostgreSQL 16 volume for rollback or logical migration.

AI-assisted-by: gpt-5.6-sol

* 🐳 Expose RustFS ports in devenv

Publish the RustFS S3 API and management console on localhost port 9000
and 9001.

Keep both bindings on loopback so object storage is not exposed to the local
network.

AI-assisted-by: gpt-5.6-sol

* 🐳 Install standalone pnpm in devenv

Install pnpm 12.5.0 from architecture-specific release archives and
verify their published checksums.

Remove the Corepack setup while allowing pnpm to honor the project
packageManager pins.

AI-assisted-by: gpt-5.6-sol

* 🔥 Remove corepack, use system pnpm everywhere

Corepack is gone from Node 25+, so every `corepack enable` call
fails. pnpm now ships as a system binary (devenv, CI runners and
Docker images install it directly) and auto-downloads the version
pinned in `packageManager` on mismatch.

Scripts, workflows and Dockerfiles call `pnpm` straight away; the
three deploy workflows use a single `pnpm/setup@v2` step; and the
new `scripts/sync-pnpm-version` stamps all 35 `packageManager`
fields from the system pnpm, replacing the `corepack use` sweep.

* 🐛 Fix exporter watch missing render-wasm build step

The exporter watch compiled CLJS requiring the generated
src/app/wasm/shared.js, which only render-wasm/build export
produces. Without it shadow-cljs failed with a cryptic missing
./shared.js dependency. Run build:wasm before watching, as
the frontend watch:app and exporter scripts/build already do.

* 🔧 Add opencode V2 support and adapt plugins

Register the penpot tools for both opencode V1 (server())
and V2 (setup() with JSON Schema inputs) from a single
dependency-free plugin file, sharing the psql and
paren-repair runners between both paths.

Install the opencode2 binary side-by-side with V1 in the
devenv image and document the dual registration in the
paren-repair and psql memories.

e4d1816117 ⬆️ Update pnpm to 12.3.4 across all workspaces
Run `corepack use pnpm@next-12` (resolved to 12.3.4) on every directory
with a package.json: the repo root, the 11 module workspaces, and all
submodules. Every packageManager field now carries the same pinned
version and hash; the root and backend move off 11.20.0.

Fix the composable-test-suite workspace config (esbuild allowBuilds
placeholder left by pnpm 12) so its install passes, and add the missing
packageManager fields to frontend/packages/ui and mcp/packages/plugin,
since corepack only updates existing fields.

Document the canonical update procedure in
.serena/memories/workflow/updating-pnpm.md.

🎉 Enable multi-instance horizontal scaling for MCP server (#10013)
* 📎 Ignore .iml files (IntelliJ module files)

* 🎉 Enable multi-instance horizontal scaling for MCP server

Allow the MCP server to run as multiple instances behind a plain
round-robin load balancer, removing the previous requirement that a
user's plugin WebSocket and MCP client connection terminate on the same
instance. Behaviour is unchanged when run as a single instance or
without Redis.

Cross-instance MCP sessions: when a request arrives with an
mcp-session-id that was initialised on another instance, the session is
adopted locally instead of rejected. The user token is read from the
query parameter (present on every request, as the configured endpoint
URL is never rewritten), so no shared session store is needed; the
transport is pre-initialised so the SDK's validateSession() accepts it.

Cross-instance task routing: when a Redis URI is configured in
multi-user mode, plugin task requests are routed via Redis pub/sub keyed
by user token. The instance holding a plugin's WebSocket subscribes to
that token's request channel; any instance handling a tool call
publishes the request and awaits the response on a per-request channel.
RedisBridge is a pure transport for the existing serialised
PluginTaskRequest/Response objects. PluginTask is split into an abstract
base plus a local (promise-backed) PluginTask and a RemotePluginTask
whose resolve/reject publish the outcome back over Redis, so the
existing local dispatch and response-correlation paths are reused
unchanged on the executing instance.

✨ Bound MCP memory consumption by limiting parallel exports & response size (#9748)
* ✨ Bound the size of plugin task responses

When using the integrated remote MCP server, bound response size.
All responses are passed to LLMs, which themselves impose bounds.
This is a measure to bound memory usage in the centrally provided
MCP server.
