`AgentRuns.import_artifact(thread_id, filename, content)` (extension API 0.2.11)
imports at most 2 MiB of retained bytes into an idle thread's uploads directory.
It requires a plugin-scoped delegated handle and rechecks current thread-write
authority. The host selects a content-addressed filename; identical calls reuse
the copy, while a replaced or edited destination fails without overwriting it.
The result contains `filename`, virtual `path`, `sha256` and `size`. Non-mounted
sandboxes synchronize those exact bytes through an authorized sandbox lease.
Remote publication uses descriptor-confined staging and conditional links, never
`update_file`: changed files, hardlinks and symlinks are rejected without writes
to the destination. Remote images require POSIX/Python 3, and sandbox adapters
declare their actual `artifact_root` (`None` defaults to unsupported).
Cancellation drains publication/synchronization before releasing the thread's
mutation reservation. Descriptor confinement requires POSIX. This primitive

stores no team policy, artifact versions or acceptance state; those belong to

the extension.

`ToolContext.run_id` is stamped from the worker's runtime, outside tool arguments.
`AgentRuns.validate_artifact_source(thread_id, run_id, idempotency_key)` verifies
the plugin-scoped execution key and running status, and checks capture support.
This permits registration before a successful admission acknowledgement has
reached the extension without attributing an unrelated turn to a queued job.
`AgentRuns.start(..., artifact_imports=[receipt])` accepts up to four exact import
receipts. After durable admission, the worker verifies local and remote hashes
before constructing the Agent. Failures end with `stop_reason=artifact_conflict`.
Existing idempotency keys are reconciled before this check, preserving retries
after a Run edited its own copies. Keep the receipts with frozen input. The
worker retains the verified remote sandbox lease through execution and drains
its release across cancellation.
`AgentRuns.read_artifact(thread_id, path)` authorizes a bounded (2 MiB) regular
output-file snapshot, rejects symlink traversal, and reserves the thread against

concurrent runs/edits while reading off-loop. The workflow extension stores those

bytes append-only with SHA-256, approves exact versions, and serves preview and

concurrent runs/edits while reading off-loop. Its optional `expected_checkpoint_id`

is compared under that same reservation (412 on mismatch, 409 while busy).

Non-mounted providers read live remote output through an authorized lease.

The workflow extension stores those bytes append-only with SHA-256, approves exact versions, and serves preview and

The artifact contract requires extension API 0.2.11 in both the package dependency

Artifact declarations belong to the authenticated member's executing team job.

A new authenticated native mention can also reconnect its team. Existing queued

jobs then continue under that caller's current delegated capability.

## Register and hand off files
While executing a team request, a member can call `register_team_artifact` with
`team_id`, a stable `request_id`, a short `name` and a regular file `path` under
`/mnt/user-data/outputs/`. The returned `artifact_id` and numeric `version`
identify a **pending** declaration. The service captures its bytes only after
the producing request ends successfully and the host can reserve the idle source
conversation. Registration checks the host-stamped running Run and its plugin
execution key, including when admission acknowledgement is lost. Capture checks
the producing checkpoint again inside that reservation; a later turn fails the
declaration instead of supplying its bytes. It saves the content, SHA-256, size and member/task/run provenance
in the plugin database. Registration records the file selected by that member;
it does not prove that the run originally created it or that its contents passed
independent verification.
For a later revision, register with a new `request_id` and the existing
`artifact_id`. Each version is immutable; source edits and deletion do not change
saved bytes. An identical registration retry returns the same declaration/version,
including after capture. Reusing its request ID with different arguments fails.
Attach exact versions to the optional `artifacts` argument of `send_member`:
```json
{"team_id":"...","member_id":"...","request_id":"review-report","text":"Review the report","artifacts":[{"artifact_id":"...","version":1}]}
```
A task referencing a pending version waits without occupying an active slot.
After capture, the host imports those retained bytes into the recipient's own
uploads directory **before** admitting its Agent. The task input includes each
copy's path, SHA-256, size and source. Import retries use the same content-addressed
copy; they never replace a recipient-edited file. New runs verify local and remote
copies under durable run admission, before Agent execution. Frozen inputs keep
their original paths and versions and still require this check. Admission retries
first reconcile their execution key, so an already admitted Run is not rechecked
against files it may have edited itself. Failed/cancelled producers fail pending
declarations, and unavailable attachments fail the receiving task instead of
starting it with a missing file. Ready files created by a peer are also attached
to its automatic result receipt, making them available to the requester.
`list_team_artifacts` lists versions with optional `artifact_id`/`job_id` filters.
Pages default to eight, accept `limit` from 1 to 20 and return `next_offset`;
continue with the same filters. Declarations append in registration order, so
new arrivals do not shift earlier offsets. `read_team_artifact` reads a specified
`artifact_id`/`version` in base64 chunks; follow its byte `next_offset` until null.
Both tools require the owning user's current member conversation and work without
reconnect. Read responses, including metadata, stay within 24,000 UTF-8 JSON bytes.
The **Team files** panel shows pending, saved and failed versions with their
source. Download reads the same retained bytes. Select up to four saved versions
to attach them to the next task; selection and the message draft survive updates.
Source conversations remain accessible through the existing navigation control.
Remote capture and imports use authorized sandbox leases and bounded POSIX
snapshots, with no symlink traversal or replacement of existing files. E2B and
Tenki use their configured sandbox home; BoxLite, OpenSandbox and AIO use
`/mnt/user-data`. Remote images need `python3` with its standard library.
Custom sandbox adapters must declare `artifact_root`; unsupported capture is
rejected during registration. Mounted providers retain host filesystem capture.
Limits are four declarations/attachments per task, 20 retained versions per team,
2 MiB per file and 64 MiB of file content per owner across teams. Pending/failed
versions still consume a version slot; start another team at its capacity. Deleting
a finished team removes its plugin snapshots, while source conversations and
already imported recipient copies remain. File capture/import requires POSIX and
a persistent plugin database; non-mounted sandbox providers receive the bytes
through the host's ordinary authorized sandbox lease. Existing human-input and
task-completion rules still apply; registration itself is not file-content verification.
